Assisted Fertility

Kurt M. Hughes has practiced in the area of assisted reproductive technology (ART) law for more than a decade.  Ten years ago, the use of gestational surrogates seemed almost like science fiction.  Today, building families through ART is rivaling or outpacing adoption. Kurt is a charter member of the American Academy of Reproductive Technology Attorneys.  Created as a specialty division of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys (AAAA) in May 2009, AAARTA is a credentialed, professional organization dedicated to the advancement of best legal practices in the area of assisted reproduction and to the protection of the interests of all parties, including the children, involved in assisted reproductive technology matters.  Kurt brings years of experience to drafting and reviewing gestational carrier agreements, as well as egg and sperm donor contracts.  He also helps intended parents obtain amended birth certificates after gestational carrier births in Vermont.
